This is a fantastic opportunity for a fitness manager to take on the hugely exciting challenge of launching a prestigious new gym in an exclusive 1000 apartment residential development in Canning Town. The gym offers a fantastic range of Technogym equipment, swimming pool, and studio and steam room and is free to use for the residents with the facilities being very much on par with the top private health clubs in the city. With an anticipated take up of around 1000 members when the apartments are all occupied there will be a steady footfall of guest throughout the day. The fitness manager will report into the GM of the Development and will be responsible for the day to day running of the club and will have responsibility for all the operational aspects and health and safety of the club including taking responsibility for risk assessments and pool checks. Of key importance is the ability to lead and direct the team of 4 fitness instructors to deliver an exceptional level of service to the residents, ensuring high levels of interaction and expert guidance and encouragement on every visit. You will also be responsible for managing a studio timetable with the opportunity to take some classes yourself as well as manging external instructors. In addition to taking responsibility for the staffing and rotas within the club you will be responsible for staffing budgets, ordering supplies and consumables an ensuring the efficient day to day running of the club.

Ina addition to a highly competitive basic you will also be given the opportunity to personal train the residents and retain 100% of the PT revenue when doing this off shift. It is however strictly forbidden to entertain non-residents in the club. We are keen to talk to candidates who have a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience working within a gym and who are level 3 qualified. Working in a corporate gym or hotel based club would be advantageous but is not essential. You will need to have first class interpersonal and communication skills and the confidence to interact and influence at a senior level with the business.
