Paying homage to the history of the building, grand historic areas have been sensitively restored and a selection of restaurants, bars and events spaces are a tribute to the rich heritage of excellent hospitality and dining. In its reincarnation this iconic London landmark now features 160 contemporary guestrooms, including 54 suites and seven signature suites.

Moving seamlessly from historic spaces, the guestrooms and suites are contemporary yet serene, designed with meticulous detail. Rusticated Portland stone or fumed Oak panels complement parquet floors and copperlight doors creating a calming and luxurious ambience. The materials and techniques used are inspired by existing elements from the historic spaces conveying a strong sense of place. Café Royal's luxury rooms are some of the largest in London. Each is entered by a generous lobby with double doors leading onto bathrooms created exclusively in Carrara marble, a signature throughout the hotel.

Your role

As our Night Manager, it is your responsibility to guide, monitor and support the Front Desk team to ensure our guests receive unparalleled hospitality, from a seamless arrival and departure experience, to extensive reception services, assisting them with their queries and unexpressed wishes.

An acting Ambassador during the night by meeting, getting to know and understanding our guests in order to deliver a truly world class service experience. You will assumefull responsibility for the entire hotel during the night to ensure the consistent delivery of all Café Royal service concepts, products and up selling opportunities. You will ensure that all business data (including guest information and rates) are accurately maintained in the property management system (PMS) by the Night team. The Night Manager will assist the Front Office Manager by playing an active part in the learning and development of the night team, through practical demonstrations, coaching and questioning to ensure that they are proficient in all guest service, front office and cashiering duties.

This is chiefly an operational role, where you will be a role model, sharing your expertise and continually inspiring the team to proudly deliver world class service with elegance, creativity, and unfailing attentiveness. You will provide information on hotel services and most importantly, as their host, make our guests feel welcome whilst they visit our energetic and vibrant city. You will also ensure hotel charges are processed diligently to guests’ accounts, invoices are accurate and all guest transactions are fulfilled in a very timely manner.

Shifts are worked on a 4 on 4 off basis (including weekends) covering the hotel between the hours of 8pm to 8am at which time responsibility will be handed over to the Day team.

Your profile

  • Proven experience Night Manager, Duty Manager, Senior Night Auditoror Reception Manager or Assistant, gained within a Luxury 5* hotel orResort environment is essential.

  • Candidates should have previous experience managing large teams; dealing with a busy operational hotel; and be well versed in all aspects of hotel management, law, licencing and H&S legislation

  • Your grooming should be immaculate and communication skills exceptional, in order to flawlessly connect with our Guests and colleagues from all over the world – a fluent level of spoken and written English essential, second or third European languages are beneficial

  • Candidates should be highly organised, have excellent time management and problem solving skills combined with an exceptional understanding of luxury with a flawless eye for detail

  • Must have good numeric skills (prior work experience within accounts or auditing will be highly regarded)

  • An advanced level of knowledge across all Microsoft programmes andHotel PMS systems; including OperaMicros and HotSOS is preferred

  • Candidates should also hold a valid First Aid Certificate and Personal Licence
