Deputy Manager - Bolney, Haywards Heath
Located in the pretty village of Bolney, the centuries-old Bolney Stage just oozes character, with huge inglenook fireplaces, ancient flagstones and crooked beams aplenty, and comfortable old furniture. You'll find a warm welcome, good honest food, and an unpretentious, chatty atmosphere.
We plan to carry out a sensitive and substantial refurbishment of the pub and gardens in the near future and are now looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to help strengthen the management crew and to lead the business on this next stage of the journey – for a flavour of the direction we are heading have a look at our sister pubs on the 'Brunning & Price' website.
As a Deputy Manager you are a key member of the pub management team and will be expected to support the manager as the ‘right hand’ person in all aspects of sharing responsibility for the day to day running of the pub. The role is very hands-on and extremely varied encompassing people management, food and drink, customer service, pub maintenance and day to day financial administration. You will also assume responsibility for the pub when the manager is not on the premises with the help of the rest of the management team.
Helping to run one of our pubs is a multi-facetted career: you’ll need to be a real foodie; have a real passion for decent beer and wine; enjoy looking after others and help build and direct a happy crew. We’re looking for a fun character who will set the bar high and have a real eye for detail.
All of our pubs are featured in the Good Pub Guide and for us it’s all about serving fresh, simple, high quality traditional dishes extremely well.
We’ll reward you with a salary package from £23,000 - £27,000 plus tips and company benefits and you’ll be part of a successful, growing company who have been awarded Pub Group of the Year on five occasions.
