Kitchen Porter (Catering) - Roehampton, London
Reporting to Head Chef
Full Time Contract - 45 hours per week
Salary: £31,850
Job Purpose:
To ensure clean dishes are all stored and maintained, whilst ensuring a clean and sanitary kitchen and back of house areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a supply of clean dishes, glassware, silver, etc, for all catering outlets within the Club.
- Dish washer machine cleans dishes, silverware, and glassware and cleans dirty pots and pans or storage material as needed.
- Keep cook line well stocked with china/hot plates.
- Keep glassware organised at all times, storing dishware in the proper location.
- Ensure correct storage and checking of all deliveries into Kitchen.
- Maintain a clean kitchen environment by assisting kitchen personnel in following standard cleaning practices; Sweep and mop the entire kitchen and dish room; wash all clearing counters and shelves; wash mats with appropriate cleaning chemical after each use, monitor rubbish levels in all cans and removes when needed.
- Ensure the loading bay area is kept in a hygienic manner and monitor waste collection.
- Ensures that all waste from the Juice bar is continually collected and food produce delivered promptly.
- Monthly stock taking of equipment ensuring stock levels.
- To assist the banqueting staff in moving and arranging furniture for the function room set ups.
- To ensure the staff canteen is cleared off crockery and cutlery at 7pm each day when on the late shift.
- To actively participate in monthly team meetings.
Whilst full training will be given, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- A positive attitude, able to work on own and as part of a team.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and hygiene practices at work.
