We're currently recruiting a dedicated Driver to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Chartwells on a full time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week.As a Driver, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of quality work. - Effectively participate in a team of drivers supplying a service to local health service premises.
- Observe all regulations governing the driving and use of vehicles on the public highway and to be aware of all employee responsibilities under Health & Safety at work legalisation.
- Undertake daily checks as are reasonable to ensure that the vehicle to be driven complies with legal requirements and is in good running order. Report any defects or accidents, which may occur immediately.
- Maintain both the interior and exterior cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
- Observe confidentiality in respect of Trust and patient information at all times.
- Undertake accurate and timely sorting of mail, collection and delivery of specimens, blood, pharmacy, food, CSSD and any other items required.
- Communicate caringly with terminally ill, physically handicapped and recently bereaved people in their own homes.
- Deliver, erect and install expensive and delicate equipment in patient's homes and demonstrate how to use, including bath hoists and medical devices.
- Work to pre set schedules, understand and prioritise urgent requests for blood, drugs, medical records and any other items requested by the service users.
- Represent and promote the professional image of the Trust to service users and the public.
- A full clean UK driving licence (provisional licence not accepted)
- Passionate about customer care, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and healthcare staff.
- Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
- Confident working in a hospital environment and aware at times you will meet patients that are particularly unwell or showing signs of distress.
- A can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn and go the extra mile for our customers.
- This position is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service check; costs met by the employer.
