About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and production meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is ideal for individuals looking to advance their culinary skills in a vibrant restaurant environment while working collaboratively with experienced chefs.

What you will do
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to recipes and chef instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Support the head chef and senior kitchen staff in daily operations, including food production and plating.
- Participate in inventory management by helping to receive, store, and rotate stock as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Contribute to menu development by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements.

About you
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficient in food preparation techniques, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating excellent hospitality skills.
- Basic knowledge of culinary arts and restaurant operations is advantageous.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise junior staff when required.
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, showing initiative in helping others.
- Excellent time management skills, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently under pressure.
