Summary

We are looking for a new Welcome and Service Assistant to join the team at Tattershall Castle. Being a Welcome and Service Assistant for the National Trust is all about engaging with people and building connections. We aim to inspire and make sure our visitors have the best possible day when they come to visit.

As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Salary: £11.64 per hour

Duration: Permanent contract

Hours: 880 hours a year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.

Average of 22.5 hours a week, The role involves weekend working and working regularly during Bank Holidays and school holidays. During our winter hours, shifts are 6 hours and start at 9.30am, during our summer hours shifts are 7.5 hours and start at 9am.

Interviews: Wednesday 18th December 2024

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you'll be part of a team of six working at Tattershall Castle welcoming visitors, setting them up for their day and aiding in our growing support effort for the National Trust. You'll also get involved in other presentation tasks on site, ensuring that Tattershall is clean, tidy and presentable on a daily basis.

We have a brilliant programme of events all year round for our visitors and you'll help to support and deliver these and ensure our visitors enjoy their day. You'll also be working alongside our volunteer team who help with day-to-day visitor experience delivery and support with events too.

What you'll be doing

Being the 'face of the place', you will deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can.  You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same.

Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide.  This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.  

You’ll operate tills, complete membership forms, and aid in our efforts to fundraise and grow support for the National Trust.
