Cover Swimming Teachers - Multiple Sites Across Manchester

  • Reporting to: Pool Coordinator/Aquatics Manager
  • Job Purpose: To be responsible for planning and delivering learn to swim sessions to children and adults. To cover swimming lessons across our Life Leisure facilities.
  • Hours: 20 hours per week @ 52 weeks
  • Location: Life Leisure Cheadle, Life Leisure Grand Central, Life Leisure Avondale, Life Leisure Hazel Grove and Life Leisure Romiley

Person Specification:

Essential Skills

  • SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming

Desirable Skills

  • A minimum of Level 2 swimming teacher qualification.
  • A sound knowledge of all areas of the swimming programme.
  • The ability to relate and communicate with people of all ages and deal with associative issues and situations.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • The ability to be well planned.
  • The ability to be flexible.
  • The ability to keep an accurate record.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and to work as part of a wider team.

Job Duties:

  • To work with the Pool Coordinators covering evening and weekend swimming lessons.
  • To deliver safe, fun and inclusive swimming lessons to a range of participants of all ages and abilities.
  • To teach evening and weekend lessons totally 20 hours per week and to travel to our sites as needed.
  • To be prepared to change plans where necessary.
