What you’ll be doing…

We are seeking a passionate and talented Chef Manager to join our Lexington catering team, providing quality dining experiences for our prestigious corporate client, Tetragon Financial Management, TFG (formerly known as Polygon). This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to manage a small team and showcase their culinary expertise in a unique, customer facing, environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 3 to run food production and kitchen operations in a busy, customer facing, open kitchen.
  • Serving breakfast and lunch Monday to Friday, preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of fresh and seasonal dishes across a balanced weekly menu, following company recipes and specifications where appropriate.
  • Demonstrating flexibility in accommodating customer requests and diet requests where appropriate.
  • Provide a bespoke hospitality proposition for meeting rooms as booked / requested by client.
  • Take ownership of the staff restaurant menu, allowing for creativity and seasonal variety, while ensuring the ability to cater to ad-hoc hospitality bookings with flexibility and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen management regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and place orders as required.
  • Manage all team aspects for the sous chef and general assistant, including but not limited to, training, compliance training, performance management, food and health & safety, recruitment.
  • Ensure that in conjunction with the Operations Manager, catering budgeted targets are achieved and maintained, supporting the Operations Manager where appropriate in compilation of annual budgets.
  • To maintain all management systems, for finance and payroll.
  • To purchase all perishable foodstuffs through the company’s nominated suppliers.
  • To comply with all reasonable company / client requests.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably as a chef manager, head chef or sous chef.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (Food Safety Level 2 certification required, Level 3 preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative in delivering high-quality service.
  • Passionate about using fresh produce and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Up-to-date allergen training and strong understanding of dietary requirements.
  • Because of the changing nature of our business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
