Stanwell House Hotel, a cosmopolitan and stylish boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Lymington, is seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in baking and food preparation, with an emphasis on creating high-quality pastries and desserts. The Pastry Cook will play a vital role in ensuring that our offerings are not only delicious but also visually appealing.

Duties

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads according to established recipes.
• Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards, adhering to food safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute dessert menus for special events and daily service.
• Maintain an organised and clean workspace, ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
• Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and assist in ordering as necessary.
• Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance the dessert offerings.
• Assist in training junior kitchen staff on pastry techniques and best practices.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role within the restaurant or food production industry.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food preparation methods, and culinary principles.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A passion for culinary arts, particularly in pastry creation, is essential.
