What the role Is
As our Breakfast Chef/Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our guests start their day with a delicious and memorable breakfast. Your responsibilities will include preparing and cooking breakfast dishes to the highest standard while maintaining an organized and clean kitchen. This role also includes kitchen porter (KP) and commis chef duties, providing a varied and rewarding experience.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Service
- Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast dishes promptly during service times (06:30-16:00 daily).
- Manage MEP and breakfast service independently when needed.
- Maintain our high food quality and presentation standards.
- Reduce waste by practicing portion control and implementing ideas to minimize leftovers.
- Adhere to strict health and safety policies, including HACCP procedures.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe by following all food safety regulations.
- Complete necessary kitchen admin, including recording food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and wastage logs.
- Ensure all equipment is in safe working order, reporting any issues promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate politely with guests and client staff.
- Work flexibly within the team, assisting as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Take note of customer feedback and share suggestions or concerns with the Line Manager.
- Be comfortable with lone working during quieter periods.
- Demonstrate strong self-management during service and preparation times.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a Breakfast Chef role.
- Strong understanding of breakfast menus, preparation, and service.
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety practices, including HACCP.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work Sundays and weekends as part of a 40-hour weekly schedule.
- Flexible approach to shift patterns and responsibilities.
- Team-oriented mindset with a passion for creating a positive working environment.
