Are you an experienced health and safety professional passionate about creating safer spaces and building a culture of health, safety, and continuous improvement? Fusion is looking for a dedicated Group Health & Safety Manager to support our charity’s commitment to safety, compliance, and wellbeing across our facilities and communities. Your Mission: As the Group Health & Safety Manager, you’ll promote a culture of safety and compliance while driving continuous improvement across all Fusion sites and services. Partnering with our local and regional teams, you’ll implement our
safety systems and provide hands-on coaching to ensure we maintain the highest standards.
What You’ll Do
- Safety System Management: Oversee and implement safe systems of work across all facilities, ensuring day-to-day management meets charity and sector standards.
- Data-Driven Improvements: Develop performance indicators and conduct data analysis to drive a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks through audits, assessments, and incident investigations.
- Policy Development: Regularly review and refine health and safety policies and procedures to align with current legislation.
- Training Programs: Work with the People and Facilities Teams to establish comprehensive SHEQ training for all staff.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure legal compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all sites.
- Accident & Incident Investigation: Lead investigations to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Specialist Expertise: Act as the charity’s expert for safe swimming pool use and management, supporting teams with your deep sector knowledge.
- Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Lead improvement strategies aligned with accreditations (Quest, ISO), reporting regularly to the Head of Facilities Management and the Board of Trustees.
What We’re Looking For – The Essentials
- Qualifications: NEBOSH or IOSH certification
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance in a multi-site, multi-functional environment.
- Communication Skills: Ability to write engaging policies and explain complex safety concepts in accessible language.
- Sector Experience: Background in the leisure industry with broad, practical knowledge of sector-specific requirements.
- Collaborative Spirit: Proven experience influencing teams and fostering collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Project Management: Skills in project management and stakeholder engagement to lead multidisciplinary safety initiatives.
- Travel: Have the ability to travel nationally as and when the charity requires.
