About us
Part of London + Regional Hotels, The Lensbury Resort is located on the Banks of the River Thames at Teddington and is home to an exclusive leisure club, a 155 bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, Spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds.
The Role
As Chief Engineer, you will oversee all engineering responsibilities for the Resort, ensuring all reactive and planned preventative work is carried out effectively and efficiently, with minimum disruption to our guests, members and team. You’ll be responsible for implementing best practice and new technologies to support energy efficiency and will also lead, develop and motivate the Building Services team.

Key Responsibilities
· Lead, motivate and develop the Engineering team to maintain the highest levels of experience and presentation for our guests throughout the Resort at all times;
· Develop and implement a working strategy to provide a technically and commercially efficient solution for the management and control of all engineering services at The Lensbury;
· Undertake the full handover with Contractors following the completion of any refurbishment;
· Partner with other leaders and managers within the business to ensure the smooth flow of communication between key departments, with the overall objective of enhancing the guest experience at all times;
· Implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance programme for the Resort, ensuring that full and proper records are kept and are continually updated;
· In conjunction with the team, to undertake routine checks of the resort to ensure front and back of house operations work smoothly at all times;
· In conjunction with the H&S Coordinator and other appropriate departments, ensure compliance with all relevant current and new statutory legislation pertaining to the Resort operation;
· Remain calm, composed and in control in all situations, and effectively handle all guest feedback;
· Co-ordinate and supervise projects, and work alongside outside contractors
· Observe energy efficiency of all equipment, making recommendations for replacement of energy inefficient equipment and to report to management all wastage of energy;
What we are looking for?
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values:
· A passion for delivering outstanding levels of operational support with a proven track record within a similar size and calibre of property
· Hold an IOSH or NEBOSH general certificate
· Engineering degree/diploma or related discipline preferred
· Previous leadership experience
· The ability to manage in a diverse environment with an overall focus on providing an outstanding guest experience
· Strong organisational and time management skills with a high degree of flexibility
· Commercially focused
· Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
· Must have renovation experience, preferably in a resort or hotel setting
· Proven ability to handle multiple complex projects with a focus on results
· Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
· Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail
· Experience with high level of water and pool management preferred
