Head Chef

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef or Sous/Senior Sous Chef who is ready to take the next step. As a leader in the business, Head Chefs are the figureheads of the dining operation at Barley Mow. Your experience of fresh food and running beautiful kitchens will set you up for success, whilst developing your people to become the Head Chefs of the future.

Do you have…

    A high standard of food knowledge and skill with full fresh ingredients from scratch A born leader who wants to drive a team of hardworking, friendly, and ambitious chefs who are working towards the common goal of excellence Up-to-date with COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, legal knowledge A willingness to develop on a personal level whilst also propelling the brigade forward at Barley Mow

Some of the things you will be doing as a Head Chef

    Supporting the recruitment and induction of new team members Leading, managing and developing your Brigade whilst ensuring their training is fully complete at all times Conduct kitchen audits in line with company expectations, maintaining the operational standards at all times Be responsible for the creation of kitchen rota, ensuring labour targets are met Be able to design, create and cost new menu items for daily specials when needed in line with company policy   Conduct weekly stock takes to ensure delivery of GP margins in line with targets Adopt a proactive strategy to boost sales and drive growth by engaging effectively with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
