Assistant General Manager - Hyde Park, London
Contract: Permanent - Following a 6-month probationary period
Park Sports are a growing public sports centre operator and all of our venues are in fantastic locations across London offering great opportunities for culture, leisure and a variety of sports. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant General Manager at Hyde Park to join a well-established team which has a great working culture and value their people. The centre consists of 7 outdoor tennis courts, a five a side football/netball pitch, a padel court, lawn bowls and table tennis, plus a busy café. The ideal candidate will possess excellent management and customer service skills, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day management of the centre alongside the General Manager (GM) and covering the GM during absence.
- Organising staff rotas/timesheets.
- Support and contribute to the delivery of Park Sports vision, mission and values.
- Assist the GM to drive and achieve KPI’s, including customer service, revenue targets, payroll costs and participation levels.
- Following Health & Safety procedures and requirements, fixing or escalating issues as appropriate.
- Help lead and develop a high performing team through effective people management, development and retention.
- Manage court, pitch and course bookings, including handling enquiries and cancellations
- Address and resolve customer complaints or issues in person, via phone and via e-mails.
- Write and respond to emails professionally and in a timely manner, addressing enquiries and other administrative tasks.
- Perform spreadsheet work to include accurate data entry.
- Raising invoices on accounting software.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility, including common areas, changing rooms and on court.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a sports management role preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively managing a team as well as independently.
- Proficient in using email, spreadsheet and invoicing software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google sheets, Xero).
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
