Location: Leatherhead Road, Chessington, Surrey, KT9 2NE
Our Engineers sit within our Technical Services Department, which encompasses a dynamic team of disciplines from Facilities to Creative, responsible for all elements of maintenance across the resort. All our team are enthusiastic and motivated to deliver the best possible experience for our guests, making Chessington the UK resort that every child dreams of visiting!
Our Engineering Team are responsible for maintaining the 32 rides and attractions at Chessington World of Adventures, from our iconic rollercoasters such as The Vampire to the family friendly experiences like our much-loved Gruffalo River Ride.
Whether you are mechanically or electrically biased, you will find yourself getting stuck into a variety of tasks from preventative and corrective maintenance, conducting opening and closing checks, to being part of our annual winter maintenance program. You will be a specialist in your field, providing expertise to develop and improve reliability, safety and ride availability to ensure all guests have the best possible experiences and return year on year to our amazing resort.
Qualifications & Experience
- A “can do” attitude and endless energy and enthusiasm for the role.
- An ONC, NVQ level 3 or BTEC equivalent gained through an Apprenticeship or college route in engineering.
- Post apprenticeship experience, including inspection experience.
- Full understanding of engineering-related statutory requirements such as COSHH.
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems of work.
- The ability to read and use engineering drawings.
- The ability to display problem solving and diagnostic skills.
- Previous work in a theme park environment is not essential, engineering experience gathered on other electrical systems may be equally suitable.
- The ability to display problem solving and diagnostic skills.
- Have experience of using technical manuals, risk assessments and related documentation.
