We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a leading corporate environment. This role is essential in supporting the Head Chef to deliver high-quality food and service across both retail and hospitality provisions.
Key Responsibilities:Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting menus to the required standards.
- Ensure consistency in quality and presentation across all services.
- Manage food production levels, control waste, and ensure portion control to meet GP targets.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and cleaning.
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and ensure compliance with due diligence.
- Support events and client functions by attending meetings and delivering agreed details.
- Comply with hygiene, health and safety regulations, and complete all necessary training.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized work environment and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Ensure that risk assessments are completed and report accidents/incidents as needed.
- Promote a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and professional development.
- Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring smooth operations.
- Create and manage rotas for the kitchen team.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within high-volume catering or corporate environments.
- Strong culinary skills with a passion for creativity and food presentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Financial management experience within a kitchen setting.
- NVQ Level 3 in professional cookery or equivalent.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, HACCP, and health & safety management.
- Experience using Outlook, Word, Excel, and scheduling systems.
