Part of London + Regional Hotels, The Lensbury Resort is located on the Banks of the River Thames at Teddington and is home to an exclusive leisure club, a 155 bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, Spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds.
The Role
Are you passionate about the water, skilled in leadership, and ready to inspire the next wave of Watersports enthusiasts? We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chief Watersports Instructor to lead our Watersports team for the 2025 season (March to October 2025). Based at our beautiful riverside location in Teddington (SW London), you’ll oversee a range of activities—from kayaking to sailing and paddleboarding—ensuring a safe, fun, and memorable experience for all our guests and members. Key Responsibilities
- Delivering both on and off the water activities; including sailing, paddle sports, dragon boating and raft building.
- Run a variety of activities including big corporate teambuilding events, activity days for summer camps and kids clubs.
- Deliver safe hire of vessels to members & hotel guests
- Line management of the Watersports team
- Maintain a consistent and high level of customer care to ensure an optimum service to all
- Ensure a high standard of H&S within all Watersports areas
- Ensure the safe storage of all boats, materials and equipment
- Check the safe and secure mooring of Lensbury members’ boats on the waterfront
- Follow all Lensbury policies and procedures.
What we’re looking for:
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values:
- Valid DBS certification - essential
- Valid RYA Senior Instructor Qualification - essential
- Experience in working with children and young people
- Proven customer service skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent team player
- Sound Health & Safety knowledge
- First Aid qualification - essential
