Sales Manager - The Shropshire - Telford, Shropshire
Job Type: Full Time
Working Hours: Any 5 days in 7. Rota basis. Flex needed for weekend and some early evenings.
Reports To: General Manager / Head of Sales
Overview of Role & Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly sales targets for functions, memberships and golf business.
- Lead, coach and develop the team of sales executives to achieve the required KPI’s and results.
- Maximising the revenue potential and yield through confident price presentation and strong business acumen.
- Induct, train, and provide continuous development and feedback for each sales executive.
- Effectively convert prospects to clients/members through converting in-bound prospects and those lead-generated from networking, outreach and marketing activities.
- Champion all sales activity, prospecting, follow up calls and venue tours.
- Ensure that all sales procedures are being fully understood and executed.
- Enhance the club’s social media and community presence.
- You will be a key member of the club’s leadership team and be part of creating a great working environment.
- Build a rapport with Heads of Department and fully understand all aspects of sales from weddings through to golf memberships.
BACKGROUND
The Shropshire is a busy golf, wedding and events venue. Opened in 1992 with 27 holes of golf, 9 Hole short course, 30 bay floodlit Trackman driving range, practice facilities and 19th century farmhouse and marquee wedding/function facilities.
The club has a full diary of member competitions with 750+ members.

Overview of Role
This role will suit an experienced Sales Manager with the ability to develop business and generate revenue, whilst maximising yielding through both new and existing opportunities.
The role will assume responsibility for driving revenue for Functions and Events, Golf Memberships, and Golf Day bookings.
The ideal candidate will possess a sound knowledge and understanding of sales processes and marketing methods as well as be able to adapt, coach and deliver business processes and sales techniques.
You will be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering results and leading a team. Working with and leading a team of sales executives you will be responsible for multiple revenue streams and delivering performance to meet targets.
