We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance Team.

The Management Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting tasks, analytical review and process improvement. With support from the wider Finance team, you will be encouraged to take on additional responsibilities as you progress.

The Role

  • Handling Month end accruals and prepayments postings across a range of P&L areas including employment costs, rent and other fixed costs, utilities, IT, and licenses.
  • Completing a analytical review of P&L accounts, and presentation of findings to Senior Finance Manager and Financial Controller.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and undertaking actions based findings.
  • Business partnering with relevant teams across the company.
  • Working with the Accounts Payable and Bank and Cash teams to ensure day-to-day operational finance requirements are met.
  • Assisting with financial audit queries.
  • Creating annual budgets and review of performance against these throughout the year.
  • Applying knowledge gained through relevant studies to review and improve processes and controls around financial reporting of costs, capital expenditure, and cashflow.
  • Working on ad hoc projects to support the business (e.g. in relation to cost control and energy consumption).

Experience

  • Previous experience within a finance team, or as an auditor
  • Experience of preparing balance sheet reconciliations (not essential)
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A thorough approach to work and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Sound proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
  • Currently working towards a professional finance qualification (i.e. ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA)
  • A thorough approach to work with strong attention to detail
  • A proactive attitude and a desire to continuously improve working practices
  • The ability to work independently when required
  • Effective prioritization skills, and the ability to demonstrate flexibility in response to management action
