Leisure Assistant - Hook, Hampshire

The role will work closely with other Leisure Assistants and also Beauty Therapists to ensure excellent customer service is delivered to all those visiting the Hotel and spending time within the Healthclub facilities.

You will ensure the customer experience is as relaxing as possible with aiding them in receiving room service or taking orders. Reporting to the Senior Team within the department and liaising with the Leisure and Salon staff, communication is a key skill in this department and between other departments as it allows everything to run smoothly.

Health club and Leisure Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening and closing of the Leisure Club and Beauty Room.
  • Showing guests how to work the various fitness machines. Any guests requiring individual fitness to be taken and fitness expert to be booked.
  • Ensure the safe use and cleanliness of the facilities which includes the fitness studio, courtyard area, swimming pools, saunas, solarium, changing rooms including lockers and leisure cupboard.
  • Monitor and replace towels for the leisure area and outdoor pool, ensuring that dirty linen is taken/or put out for collection for the laundry. (This could mean 4 times a day or as and when required)
  • Deal with any membership enquiries and promotion of the Health Club and Hotel. This may include show rounds of potential members and staff etc.
  • Maintain the appearance of the outdoor and indoor pool area
  • Netting the pool
  • Providing high level customer service to pool and leisure guests
  • Personal appearance and hygiene should comply with the hotel policy; uniforms should be treated with utmost care, maintaining a smart appearance at all times.
  • Carry out fire procedures and regulations as laid down in the hotel fire plan.
  • To be aware of the need to observe Health and Safety at Work and hygiene regulations and to advise management of any irregularities.
  • To be a point of contact for members and pamper day clients, to help throughout their day if salon staff are unavailable.
  • To promote the use of the Health Club facilities to all hotel guests.
