Welcome & Service Assistant - Whitley Bay



As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit. All while contributing to KPI's and growing support around membership, admissions and low level fundraising.

Hours/working pattern: This role is full time, 5 days a week, throughout our open days, Wednesday to Sunday. Working days can vary during Northumberland school holidays, when the property is open 7 days a week.

Interviews will take Wednesday 22nd May.

Salary: £11.64 Per hour

Contract: Permanent 

What it's like to work here

This Northumbrian country house and grounds is one of the National Trusts more recent acquisitions. A place of theatre, imagination and fun that brings together a spirit of ambitious programming and events, alongside the drama and spirit of place, that keeps visitors coming back again and again. 

Seaton Delaval Hall continues to go from strength to strength, having welcomed 146,000 visitors in the last year, for the first time. Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of the Visitor Welcome team working at Seaton Delaval Hall. 

This role has a strong focus on visitor engagement, ensuring all visitors enjoy their day and know how they can help be more involved in caring for our places so that our people, places and nature can thrive. 

This role is key in supporting our belief in 'Nature, beauty, history. For everyone, forever' and in maintaining our values, a love for people and places, everyone welcome, thinking now and forever, and making it happen. As well as supporting in more direct income streams such as, plants sales, our second hand book shop and our craft club.

What you'll be doing

Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listening to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You will be responsible for contributing to the day to day operation of the welcome area and providing high standards of service and visitor experience, and be the friendly face of the National Trust to thousands of visitors. You will also contribute to our strategy and ambitions in growing support, giving people more opportunities to get involved and support our work, engaging our visitors and helping them enjoy their visit and get the most out of their day.

Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service.
