Job Description

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
  • Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
  • Compliance with Health and safety - maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order

Full time, 40 hours, 5 days out of 7, some weekends as required. 11.44 per hour, paid monthly.

We cater for children from ages 3-18 at Ashville College and have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, friendly Kitchen Porter to wash up, put away deliveries and keep our busy kitchen clean and tidy. Because we serve breakfast, lunch and supper every day, shifts are usually 6am-2.30pm or 10.30-7pm on rotation.

This role can be physically demanding and will suit a team player with who thrives on doing a job well done.

Ashville College is easily accessible by car or public transport from Harrogate or Leeds. Free parking, meal on duty, uniform provided & laundered daily.

Qualifications

  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
