Sports Direct Malaysia is currently looking for an E-commerce Account Executive- Marketplace to join our growing team. 

Malaysia marks the first direct retail investment in Asia through a joint venture partnership with Malaysian owned MST Golf Group of companies, a well-established golf retailer and service provider in the region. Sports Direct Malaysia currently operates a total of 34 retail stores domestically and manages a proprietary e-commerce site for domestic and regional fulfillment. Sports Direct Malaysia offers over 70 of the leading authentic global sports brands, offering the widest variety of choice and value. The company employs 850 staff with a view to expanding rapidly across Asia in the coming years.

We have developed a new generation of stores as part of our multi channel elevation strategy, to enhance the customer experience at every step of the journey. The stores are uniquely zoned by key sports categories which include; SD Football, SD Running, SD Training (fitness, cross training, gym equipment, weights, boxing, yoga), SD Rackets (badminton, tennis, squash), SD Swimming (pool, beach, water sports), SD Sports (basketball, rugby, extreme games, cycling, skates & indoor games), SD Lifestyle (Men, Women & Kids) & SD Outdoor (Hiking, trekking, camping & fishing).

The opportunity.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a successful and growing Marketplaces and Group's Partner Program business working with a large portfolio of brands across fashion, lifestyle, and sports.  Passionate about marketplaces and e-commerce this is an opportunity for someone who is a self-starter and takes a hands-on approach to trading their brands and websites and has previous experience of working with Shopee, Lazada or Tiktok Shop.

Joining at period of significant investment into digital this is an amazing opportunity for someone to contribute to the growth and development of the marketplace channel. 


The responsibility.

This is a physical role involving management of marketplaces and third-party brands' performance on the group's websites and marketplace such as Sports Direct Malaysia, SDM app, Lazada, Shopee, and more.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders from the marketplace agency
  • Take an active role in campaign planning and keeping the campaign calendar up to date, support with execution
  • Work to improve product upload process, optimise product content, improve brands' presentation, supporting teams to resolve any issues as quickly as possible to optimise online sales
  • Analyse and report on Marketplace performance, creating recommendations to improve sales 
  • Produce insight information for both internal and external discussions
  • Execute site walks to make sure correct product placements and optimisation
  • Support the growth of the Partner Program third-party brands by helping with their queries: performance reports, product content optimisation and daily business 
  • Maintaining and updating any relevant documentation
  • Participate in projects, new business launches or carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit that will benefit the company
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholders, utilising appropriate communication and people management methods.
  • Be an active and positive contributor to the team, contributing to the overall ecommerce strategy

The person.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with multiple teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and organise own workload
  • Advanced Excel skills preferable
  • Bachelor's Degree in related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in e-commerce, retail or business development role.
  • Strong business judgment backed by analytical mindset and comfort generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analyses.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills; dissecting root causes of problems and implementing solutions.
  • A self-starter, takes ownership and passionate in driving results - comfortable in fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
