Senior Order Picker - St Albans

We're currently recruiting Senior Order Pickers to join our dynamic team based at our Cuisine Centre of Operations. We are a leading producer of high-quality food products renowned for their freshness and taste. We're seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Senior Order Pickers, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our products reach customers with accuracy and efficiency. You will be required to lead the team for the picking operation as well as undertaking order picking duties. You must be able to work in tight spaced busy environment. This role will require you to be number literate, have a high attention to detail and an ability to supervise a small team. We are seeking individuals on a full-time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week, initially Monday to Friday however as our contracts grow hours and days of work may be subject to change. Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of order pickers, ensuring productivity and adherence to company standards.

Assign tasks and priorities to team members, coordinating order picking activities efficiently.

Provide training and mentorship to team members, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and efficient use of equipment.

Accurately pick orders according to provided lists or instructions.

Utilize machinery such as forklifts or pallet jacks to retrieve items from designated areas.

Safely transport products to the shipping area for packaging and distribution.

Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, especially in a cold environment.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the picking area and equipment according to company protocols and food safety regulations.

Communicate any equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements from you to undertake this role:

Previous experience as a Supervisor / Team Leader in a warehouse or order picking role preferably in the food industry.

Hold a valid Forklift Licence

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.

Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude.

Previous experience working in a production or manufacturing environment,

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Ability to work in a cold environment for extended periods (PPE Provided)
