M&S Assistant Manager - Portsmouth

30,000 per annum, 40 hours per week

What you'll be doing:To support the Store Manager in delivering great results, achieving targets and KPI's set by both Compass and the Brand. Take responsibility for the overall operational performance of the store in the Store Managers absence, role modelling best practise and ensuring all team members create a great customer experience in a safe environment.

More about the role:Key Responsibilities:

Taking overall responsibility for the store in the Store Managers absence. Supporting the Store Manager in complying with all Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations, by completing and checking compliance, due diligence and any legal paperwork required.Supporting the Store Manager in ensuring that all Critical KPIs are delivered as required by Compass and Brand.Support the Manager in recruiting and developing a highly capable team, while creating and encouraging a diverse and inclusive working environment for all team members.Ensure all deliveries are checked and stored promptly and correctly and manage stock levels in line with sales volumes.Complete all eLearning and training to Company Standards to ensure that all process and procedures can be completed effectively and efficiently in the absence of the Store Manager, to deliver Brand targets, KPI's and Compass budget.Effective use of Ourtime, adjusting forecasting and schedules as required to deliver efficient deployment of team.Create a positive working environment using effective communication to colleagues and when dealing with customer and client complaints, in line with company policy and procedureComply with Corporate Social Responsibilities in line with Environmental Impact, ensuring the correct management of waste to company policy and procedures.Positively support new initiatives while leading and driving engagement within the store team.Who you are:Essential

Able to role model Leadership behaviours confidentlyReliable and committed and able to work a minimum of one weekend a month and a mixture of early and late shifts, with the ability to change at short notice if required.Ability to create a positive team environment whilst maintaining professional working relationships with the team.Ability to work under pressure, using own initiative and managing situations effectivelyMinimum 6 months experience in a management/supervisory roleIT competent Desirable
