Trainee Lifeguards - Chiswick and Brentford

 

40 hours

Working hours of 06:00-22:00 

 

Salary: £11.95 per hour 

 

Positions available at Chiswick and Brentford Leisure Centres

 

 

 

We are looking for candidates looking to enrol on our next National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Course. Our next course will be held on Monday 4th March - Saturday 9th March at Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be offered a full time position at either our Chiswick or Brentford leisure centre.

 

 

 

 

In order to be enrolled on our next NPLQ course, you'll need to have strong swimming skills and be able to pass a swim test which includes; swim to a depth of 1.8, swim 50m in less than 1 minute, swim 100m continuously on your front then 100m on your back, tread water in deep water for more than 30 seconds. 

 

 

 

 

The swim test for this course will be held at New Chiswick Pool (Edensor Road, Chiswick W4 2RG) on Friday 23rd February from 4.30pm.

We are offering free* NPLQ lifeguard training to anyone interested in starting their career in lifeguarding. This is a 6 day course at the of which you will be fully qualified Lifeguard. Please note to be enrolled on the NPLQ training course, you will need to complete and pass our swim test. 

 

 

 

About the NPLQ

 

The NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) is internationally recognised and is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the UK and Ireland. It is commonly undertaken by anyone looking for a career within the leisure and fitness industry.

  The course requires a minimum of 36 hours and includes both training and an assessment at the end of the course. The assessment consists of the following: 

   

   

   

• Practical pool assessment
• Theory assessment on lifeguard theory, pool rescue, first aid and CPR

  About you

   

  As a Lifeguard your passion for swimming and love of great customer service will shine through when supervising our customers in the pool, as well as supporting the team in keeping our centres clean and tidy.

   

   

   

  As a lifeguard you'll naturally need to be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations. Lastly, you'll need to have strong swimming skills and be able to pass a swim test which includes; swim to a depth of 1.8, swim 50m in less than 1 minute, swim 100m continuously on your front then 100m on your back, tread water in deep water for more than 30 seconds.

  *T&Cs apply. The course usually a costs £270, however it will be covered by Lampton Leisure if you pass the qualification and work a minimum of 16 hours per week – with a learning agreement in place.
