Head Therapist - Central London

The Langham, London; Europe’s first Grand Hotel and Forbes 5* rated property, is currently recruiting for a Head Therapist to join our talented Chuan Body + Soul team. In this role, you will lead therapist team and ensure the standards of treatments are upheld and the team of Therapists are fully trained in the various treatments, delivering consistent experiences to all spa guests.


In the role of Head Therapist, your key focus will be to:

  • lead, train and supervise the Beauty Therapists with support from the Health Club and Spa Manager
  • supervise Spa concierge and attendant team with support of HC and Spa Manager as well as assistant manger
  • be responsible for all aspects of training of the Therapists, concierge and attendants
  • ensure the Spa Concierge have good treatment and product knowledge and are able to retail
  • be fully aware of treatment menus and product knowledge, working closely with our product houses and our own- Chuan and 5 elements brand
  • carry out treatments on a daily basis
  • inspect and ensure all treatment rooms are set up and closed according to standards at all times
  • maintain clear lines of communication within the Spa and hotel in general

Do you have? -

  • experience in a similar position and environment with a firm understanding of excellence in customer service
  • experience in leading, inspiring, building and training the team
  • Spa/Beauty qualification at NVQ Level 2 and 3, or equivalent (a professional background in beauty therapy and a Spa/Beauty qualification in CIDESCO/CIBTAC/ITEC is desirable)
  • certification in beauty/massage therapy (Swedish, Deep Muscle, Maternity massage; Auricular pressure points and Meridian work is essential)
  • real passion for training and developing team
  • ideally knowledge of products including Chuan and 5 elements, Zelens, OTO, Amra
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is well-presented
  • warm and caring attitude towards the health and well-being of external and internal guests
  • the drive to work towards targets in treatment and retail
  • the ability to work well in a team
  • good time management skills
