Job Description

Baxterstorey are the premier catering service provider for Walton Hall campus, providing a full range of dining options to the 800-1500 staff who call this campus home. The company operates in various locations on campus, offering diverse options to cater to different preferences and requirements.


  • Set objectives and be responsible for the day to day running of the location, including supervising the recruitment and selection process to ensure that it effectively meets the needs of the location and BaxterStorey.
  • Assess employee performance, recognise potential and meet training needs as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the location achieves, as a minimum, the financial targets agreed with the client in line with the budget.
  • Monitor the work of the location team and carry out appraisals, ensuring that information is filed appropriately, with development plans that are actively used.
  • Hold team meetings on a regular basis to communicate targets, standards required and company and client information.
  • Assist the General Manager work in preparing the budget. To achieve and maintain the food cost in accordance with the budget.
  • Control and achieve agreed financial targets whilst maximising all commercial opportunities.
  • Develop and evolve all client services at location, ensuring regular adjustments and improvements are both recommended and implemented.
  • Responsible for all personnel assigned to the catering services, irrespective of whether or not they are employees of the Company, in accordance with Company personnel and training policies.

Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.

Minimum 3 years of Catering experience in a deputy / leadership role

You find fulfillment in overseeing, educating, and providing support to a team.

Deliver a professional catering service, ensuring the maintenance of company standards and meeting client expectations.

Demonstrate a strong grasp of report writing and financial management.

Possess exceptional supervisory and communication skills.

The ability to delegate and influence effectively is noteworthy.

Capable of showcasing an analytical approach to problem-solving.

Exhibit a genuine passion for food and customer service.

An established, hands-on leader who invests in your team's growth and development.

A natural outgoing and vibrant personality should reflect a genuine enthusiasm for food and customer service.

Should have excellent knowledge of Health & Safety practices.

Financial acumen and robust IT literacy are essential.

 Be innovative, creative, and driven by a commitment to excellence.

 Staying current with prevailing food trends is a requisite.
