Our Field Marketing Manager will develop best-in-class marketing strategies to supercharge awareness of The Gym Group brand and bring new members into The Gym Group community through a series of creative tactics executed in the areas around our 200+ gyms up and down the UK.
They will be an expert collaborator with our Operations team and our fantastic in-gym teams, ensuring that our local marketing tactics are executed brilliantly and that our on-the-ground teams are galvanised and inspired.
Reporting into our Senior Marketing Manager for Acquisition, our Field Marketing Manager's mission is to lead The Gym Group to its next phase of local marketing excellence - developing our local marketing strategies, collateral and creative for peak trading periods and designing the tools for our teams to shout about our gyms in their local communities all year round.
This role encompasses key priority areas:
•Working closely with the rest of the Marketing Team and our Head of Operations, devise strategies to raise the awareness and membership of our gyms through local marketing tactics - defining what we say to prospective members in our local communities as well as how we say it.
•In partnership with the Operators, create a calendar of local tactics - providing leadership on when and how The Gym Group shows up in local communities across 2024.
•Lead the creation of all materials that are deployed as part of these local tactics:
•Own the creative brief to our in-house studio team to develop physical collateral and assets that build our local appeal and relevance whilst maintaining consistency with our national brand.
•Own the relationship with key suppliers, ensuring that all assets are produced within budget, on time and to a high quality.
•Create the tools for a stand-out Gym Group presence at local key events, scenes and marketing opportunities, building relevance to the local consumer landscape with a focus on prospect generation.
•Taking learnings from previous years, lead our local Student marketing push in September/October with a focus on Freshers' Fairs activations - making us the no. 1 gym of consideration amongst our target student communities.
•Lead measurement and analysis of all local marketing tactics to evaluate return on investment - measuring the success of each key campaign and activation against commercial KPIs with a focus on driving forward our data capture and prospect generation.
•Work closely with our New Gym Openings Team to develop local marketing tactics to make the opening of new Gym Group Gyms unmissable in the local area.
•Support our Corporates Team to drive acquisition of corporate members through creation effective local marketing collateral for corporate prospects and environments.
•Lead the management of the local marketing budget ensuring it is correctly phased, deployed and processed.About You:
The right person for this role will have a track record in regional/local marketing tactics and/or event marketing. You will bring expertise on how a brand can shine through its local teams and in its local communities. You will guide us on what local tactics work, where we should invest and to take our local presence to the next level. Critically, you will be a dedicated collaborator who can work with gym teams up and down the country as well as managing stakeholders in the Gym Support Centre.
•A solid and up to date knowledge of local marketing strategies - awareness of innovation in this space and who does it well that we could learn from.
•Experience working with teams based on the ground up and down the country - coordinating across regions to execute with excellence.
•A hands on approach - the drive to get stuck in, go and see our local marketing and events in action, and roll up your sleeves with the teams.
•A great communicator with strong influencing skills & experience conveying ideas & plans a range of audiences.
•Experience with sampling campaigns and/or similar activations where partnerships are established to engage prospective customers.
•Compatibility with a fast-moving and constantly evolving environment.
•A proven track record in managing suppliers to deliver cost efficiencies, within tight timelines and clear budgets.
•Data analysis and reporting capability with the aptitude to provide clear insight and drive ongoing optimisation.
