Nursery Worker (Horticulture) - Brockenhurst, Hampshire
Location: Please note - This role is located at Home Grown Hotels, Head Office, Lyndhurst, Hampshire.
Hours: 40 hours per week, including some weekends.
Contract Type: Fixed-Term, April - September 2024.
THE PIG Hotels have an obsessive commitment to home-grown and local produce, celebrating the seasons. In the hotels, our kitchen gardeners work hand-in-hand with our chefs to create menus bursting with simple British garden food. What we can't grow or rear ourselves, we source from the local area. This is the foundation of our 25-mile menu.
Behind the scenes are gardening teams are supported by our fully functioning Nursery which is run by our friendly and dedicated team of Nursey Staff based at our Head Office in Lyndhurst, Hampshire. The Nursery is where most of the vegetables grown in the kitchen gardens across our group of hotels begin their lives.
On a day-to-day basis our Nursey team are involved with propagation - sowing seeds and taking cuttings, watering, and carrying out general plant husbandry, whilst also maintaining any plants on site at our Head Office. On occasions, the team will be delivering and replenishing the plants to/from the hotels, all of which is carried out using our company vehicle.
This is a great opportunity to learn unique gardening skills whilst experiencing a commercial horticulture environment. Previous experience or PA1 & PA6 qualified and a full, clean driving licence is essential. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion towards horticulture and be commitment to covering full-time hours including some weekends which is shared amongst the team.
