Summary

As the public face of our properties, you’ll work as part of a friendly team providing a warm welcome to visitors, giving information about the property, answering questions and making sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit. 

As part of the Growing Support team, you'll understand the value of membership and help support the National Trust's conservation needs through meaningful conversations with visitors.

Salary: £21,021 pro rata £10.78 per hour

Contract/duration: 3 years until November 2026

Hours/working pattern: we are able to offer various hours across 2 or 3 contracts depending on your availability working over approximately 37 weeks between March - October. Working pattern will be daytime hours and will involve weekend work. When working at Lindisfarne Castle, shifts are dependent on tide times, therefore working hours can vary. Recruitment timescales: shortlisting will commence 13th December, interviews TBC, 2nd week of January 2024 with start date being 19th February 2024



What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Visitor Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of a team of 15 working at the Northumberland Coast Portfolio. You'll be based at either Lindisfarne Castle or Seahouses Harbour (gateway to the Farne Islands).

What you'll be doing

Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listening to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can.  You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same.

Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide.  This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service.  

As part of the Growing Support team, you'll understand and promote the value of membership to both visitors and the National Trust. You'll be passionate about the work we do, and you'll feel comfortable chatting with visitors about way they can show support, whether through donations, gift aid, membership or our bookshops.
