Summary

Holidays are booming in the north east and we are urgently looking for new people and current National Trust staff who would like occasional hours of work preparing our holiday cottages for our guests.

The cottages at Cragside are set in a location with amazing landscapes and history, and you’ll reap the benefits of working in gorgeous surroundings. For an example cottage please click here. We are a small team and are immensely proud of our cottages and the standard we provide for our guests. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, having an eye for detail and great communication skills are always an advantage.

Immediate start available.

Hours: You’ll need to be available between 10am and 3.00pm with the main changeover days being Fridays and Saturdays. However we are looking to build a flexible team across more than 1 location and we guarantee 50 hours per year minimum and probably more. Please apply and talk to us about the hours you can do. Rotas are issued in advance, and we try to accommodate other commitments where possible.

Contract: Fixed term contract until September 2024

Pay: £10.50 per hour 

Internally you will be known as 'Holidays Operation Assistant'

The post is based at Cragside with the cottages to be looked after a short 1 minute drive from the main estate entrance, less than a mile/2 minutes drive from Rothbury, 11 miles/20 minutes from Alnwick and 12 miles/20 minutes drive from Longhorsley.

What you'll be doing

On change-over days, you’ll make sure that everything’s clean and prepared for our guests to arrive. This will include making sure the cottage is thoroughly cleaned, well presented and welcoming for our guests. We’d also like you to keep an eye out and report any repairs or odd jobs that need doing along with replacing any broken items from the store supplies.

Full Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) is provided for all teams and additional extensive measures in place to protect staff. You'll require your own transport as public transport is limited. Free parking is available.
