What you'll be doing:

Please note: This role is contracted to 42 weeks per year (Term Time Only)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Chartwells Independent, leading caterers to the education sector, within one of the prestigious Boarding Houses of Rugby School which cater for up to 60 pupils.

Join our forward thinking, innovative team to deliver a fresh, seasonal menu using the best available ingredients.

Within your role you would be expected to.

  • Deliver food to a consistently high standard, set out by the Director of Food and Head Chef
  • Creating weekly menus to provide a varied and seasonal Breakfast, Lunch & Supper offer
  • Food safety management
  • H&S management
  • Staff management including training & development for up to 6 staff members
  • Stock ordering and management
  • Stock taking
  • Manage yourself, kitchen and team members around a 5 day out of 7 rota

  • Good knowledge and experience of working with food

  • Proven experience in managing successful teams in a similar environment
  • NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Experience of leading and managing a small team of people
  • Minimum 2 years catering experience
  • Excellent financial acumen
  • I.T literate
