We are looking for a Safeguarding Advisor to join our People Team.

As part of the People Team, you will be pivotal in helping us manage our Safeguarding cases.

Your job:

  • The implementation of Changing Business for Good (CBFG), the umbrella that Wellbeing, I&D and Sustainability sit underneath, applicable budgets and stakeholder relationships.
  • Safeguarding the wellbeing of our people, which includes its own caseload related to mental health, wellbeing and support. Assisting managers to manage effectively and support team members individually where needed alongside the Head of Wellbeing and the wider People team.
  • Managing the DBS compliance for the business, ensuring all eligible team members have a DBS and renewals are completed in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for ensuring the DBS policy remains up to date and is adhered to.
  • Deliver and manage the logistics of DSL Training – ensuring DSL’s in club are up to date with their training.
  • Working with other stakeholders in the business including Head of Customer Service, the Health and Safety Advisor, and Head of Family Experience to ensure there is ongoing awareness in club on all safeguarding processes and procedures.

What we can’t live without:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in safeguarding.
  • Experience of supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing in a workplace setting.
  • Experience with DBS policies and processes.
  • High level of EQ, with communication skills that support open conversations.
  • Efficient time management skills, can be agile in risk assessing the importance of tasks and prioritising safeguarding our people.
  • Excellent knowledge of current health & safety and safeguarding legislation, best practice and guidance.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of role and responsibilities of statutory agencies, including Local Safeguarding Boards.
  • Knowledge of planning processes for safeguarding enquiries and investigations.
  • Knowledge of behaviours that is harmful to children and vulnerable adults, thresholds of poor practice and abusive behaviours.
  • Knowledge of core values and principle of working with children and vulnerable adults.
  • Knowledge of best practice in prevention.
  • Ability to work with conflict and emotionally distressing matters.
  • A ‘can do’ attitude.
  • A drive to consistently challenge and look for more efficient ways of operating.
  • To remain calm and in control of high pressurised situations and be of example to others.
