We are actively inviting experienced Patient Support Workers to apply to The Lister Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK. If you can offer a weekly commitment of full-time hours, we would very much like to hear from you.

  • Location: The Lister Hospital
  • Contract Type; permanent, full time, 37.5 hours
  • Shifts: 3 long days with opportunity to work over time
  • Shift times: 08.00 - 20.30
  • Salary range: 24,000 + 6% shift enhancement

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To greet all visitors to the department courteously and in a professional manner.
  • To establish and maintain good relationships with visitors, relatives and staff, helping them to find their way around the clinical or ward environment and hospital site.
  • To perform administrative duties including registering patients, explaining pricing details and sending discharge letters to GP's
  • To assist the nurses and patients through our external pathways by making contact with the services we wish to link our patients to
  • To ensure that patient privacy and dignity are respected at all times.
  • To transport, as required, clinical specimens.
  • To support and reassure patients during clinical procedures or treatment.
  • To escort patients to and from the clinical area.
  • To assist the department team to keep the clinical area tidy, including storage cupboards, sluice, equipment and treatment rooms.
  • To assist in the checking, unpacking and storing of items delivered to the clinical area, including medications but not controlled medications.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven capacity to protect confidentiality of the department
  • Intermediate to Advanced IT skills and experience
  • Strong verbal, written, numerical and communication skills
  • Be able to work within multi-disciplinary team and communicate over health care issues.
