Junior Merchandiser Womens Brands (G21 & Studio Edit)

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a fixed term role covering Maternity leave, as the Junior Merchandiser running the G21 & Studio Edit departments,

Reporting into the Merchandiser who owns the total Tailoring, Outerwear and Brands depts.

 

Expectation of the role:

To manage and have responsibility or sometimes have sole responsibility for planning and delivery of the Brands Depts.

To plan and trade the department sales and markdown budgets, control stock levels, deliver a balanced, timely & commercial range whilst driving profit ahead of sales. 

 

  • Under guidance of Merchandiser or Trading manager, plans financial strategy including Profit, building blocks, category sheet, GBB mix, promotional activity and relevant attributes.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Base plan meeting - both historical & planning of the new season eg : wish list, option plan & category budgets.
  • On their area of responsibility, ranks options together with the buyer & designer and calculates buy quantities against each line and rolls up to the category budgets.
  • Ability to fully plan and forecast within Financial planning tool, set up a new season % bought sheet and ensure all the financial plans reconcile to the total season budget.
  • Can produce and present a full selection pack.
  • Manages and oversees the complete intake process including systems, completion of reports and ensures deadlines are met.
  • Acts where launch availability is poor, communicating to senior team.
  • Analyses and interprets the Monday trading reports, across all multi-channels.
  • On their area of responsibility, identifies sales and markdown risk / opportunity and proposes trading actions. Identifies any stock risks.
  • Ensures bookings & contracts are accurately raised following selection in accordance with lead-time importance.
  • Drives critical path management & weekly progressing with buying team, quality team and suppliers / in country offices.
  • Can make instant decisions on matter affecting delivery with a commercial view.
  • Demonstrates the ability to trade in season, using critical path to understand cut off dates or alter product considering current performance.
