Job Type: Part Time

Hours: Unspecified hours per week - must be available to work weekends (term time) and weekdays (non-term time)

Starting Salary: £11.65 - £12.20 per hour (Depending on Experience and Qualifications)

Roehampton Club is London’s premier private members multisport club, offering a wide range of sports including golf, tennis, Health Club, squash and a full catering provision, delivered to the highest standards. The Club has 5100 members (3700 adults and 1400 juniors).

Job purpose:

The position of Junior Activities Assistant is important to ensure the club offers varied and exciting activities and events with high level of service to members. The individual in this position must be professional at all times; have limitless enthusiasm; be flexible; willing to embrace change and challenges; and have a commitment to deliver that first class service to the membership.

Reporting to Assistant Health Club Manager you will be required to deliver outstanding structured sessions with mixture of sports, creative activities, and games, whilst maintaining child welfare and offering the highest standard of child supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Junior Activities Coordinator in delivering safe and successful junior activities/camps.
  • Run regular organised and ad hoc activities for Junior Members.
  • Be able to plan and implement a wide range of exciting sports activities.
  • Confident at leading diverse activities - basic motor skills, sports and games.
  • Be able to effectively supervise and provide a high level of care to the children.
  • Manage the requirements and behaviour of every children under supervision and care.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of all kids camp activities;
  • Ensuring that all safeguarding and health and safety issues within the workplace are considered and where necessary procedures implemented and enforced.

  • Trustworthy and reliable
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • A passion for working with children and young people
  • An understanding of the importance of safeguarding
  • Ability to use your own initiative
  • Organised and punctual
  • Strong team player and good communicator
  • Safeguarding – training available
  • Successful Enhanced DBS as part of recruitment

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in supervising, planning and implementing kids activities/camps
  • Coaching or other activity specific qualifications
  • Have a Paediatric First Aid certificate or other up to date first aid qualification. (If not, then we can provide a course for you)
