The role & responsibilities

As a Healthy and Sustainable Choices (H&SC) Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting analysis to make evidence-based recommendations on Asda's strategic approach to the H&SC programme. You will also focus on delivering analysis to support Asda's overarching ESG (environmental, social and governance) programme and reporting.

  • Conduct analyses to scope and shape Asda's Healthy and Sustainable Choices (H&SC) programme and propositions.
  • Make evidence-based recommendations from complex analyses to establish market opportunities, support proposition development and build business cases.
  • With a systematic and logical approach, define data and insight requirements for strategic analyses and seek routes for data collection.
  • Define and communicate patterns, trends and insights from complex datasets.
  • Deliver compelling communication and data visualisation to engage stakeholders across the business at all levels.
  • Manage analysis for ESG reporting requirements, including stakeholder engagement, data collection and analysis.
  • Project-manage data analysis projects and communicate effectively to work to agreed timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, the supply-base and Asda's partner agencies to co-design and deliver analyses for specific strategic choices.
  • Develop and refine a problem-solving framework and methodology for strategic analysis, to shape Asda's strategic development of the H&SC programme and further scopes of work.
  • Monitor external developments, industry standards, and regulations that may affect Asda's strategy, evaluating impact and suggesting amendments as appropriate.

 

The person

Essential experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in a numerate or business-related discipline, with a passion for complex numerical challenges.
  • Experience in a strategy analyst/ market analyst/ commercial analyst role.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse complex datasets, draw learnings and define recommendations.
  • Problem-solving skills and experience of working on multifaceted, ambiguous challenges.
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.
  • Self-starter who works well independently, as well as across stakeholder groups of all levels across the organisation.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide and accept actionable feedback to colleagues at all levels of the organisation, given with positive intent.

 

Desirable experience:

  • Experience of working with health and sustainability data, and/or on development of health and sustainability strategy
  • Data visualisation
