Recreation Assistant/Lifeguard - South Kensington, London

Job Type: 2x Full-Time, Open-Ended posts (Part Time options available)

Imperial College London’s flagship Sports Centre, Ethos, is based at its main South Kensington campus. This facility serves Imperial students and staff as well the local community and includes a sports hall, climbing wall, swimming pool, squash courts, state-of-the-art-fitness gym, exercise studio and sports therapy rooms.

Move Imperial is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Recreation Assistant who can deal with all aspects of day-to-day operations of the sports centre facilities including wet and dry sites, sports development programmes, and provide a high level of customer service. The post offers a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to bring their own expertise, skills, ideas and innovations to the facility.

The post holder will carry out life-guarding duties and ensure that sports facilities are prepared on time for all bookings, whilst ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained at all times. There will be opportunities to carry out instructional or coaching courses, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Please note we are open to either full or part time applicants for this role. The posts are offered on a 5 out of 7 day contract and will work as part of a rota system. We have some flexibility on the part time role(s) to offer a more fixed rota. Essential Requirements

• Current/Valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or equivalent
• Knowledge of swimming pool operations
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation
