Indoor Plant Specialist - Cheshunt, Waltham Cross

This Role:

To ensure the ornamental plants inside and outside of the property are maintained, conserved and added to, so that guests and visitors can enjoy a beautiful and natural environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• To nurture a wide range of indoor & outdoor ornamental plants keeping them healthy and vibrate.
• To maintain, and improve, external ornamental areas on Birch grounds.  Involving design, purchase, planting and caring for plants, and weeding the areas
• To ensure all indoor plants are fed and watered appropriately on a weekly basis.
• To plan and purchase plants for areas that need further development. Including indoor and outdoor areas.
• To grow plants as needed from seed as well as cuttings.
• To  seasonally plant a cut-flower garden, from your own design. To plan, grow, cut and arrange these flowers. 
• To ensure the cut flower garden is always neat and tidy.
• You will manage the cut flowers across the business and in conjunction with all relevant departments requiring them. 
• To liaise with relevant external contractors as and when necessary.  
• To manage other members of staff and volunteers allocated to you.
• To create and/or participate in workshops and tours. 

Statutory Responsibilities

• To ensure all team members within the department observe all Fire, Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations attending any training sessions necessary to keep them updated on new legislation ensuring compliance with all current legal requirements. To be aware of your responsibilities in accordance with the company H&S procedures.

Unspecified Duties

To carry out any other reasonable requests which would help to ensure that all guest expectations are exceeded.

You Have:
Experience of working with indoor and outdoor ornamental plants

Experience with cut flowers
Confidence in garden design
General gardening Experience

Qualifications in the horticultural sector
A positive attitude and team player mentality
