About the role:

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Manager to join our Airport Hospitality Team. Our award-winning airport lounges offer an unrivalled passenger experience and are ranked as the number one common-use lounge in the US across TripAdvisor, Google, Yelp! and Facebook reviews.

Duties will include:

  • Balancing hands-on cooking time with administration requirements and team development. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the requirements for food hygiene are implemented and instilled in the team.
  • Responsible for all operational requirements including, (but not exhaustive), appropriate staffing levels against business volume, deployment of team members, appropriate rotation of staff to ensure skill maintenance.
  • Working with the Duty Managers and responsible for efficient stock ordering, stock control, invoicing and ensuring receipting of deliveries are managed and recorded daily. Monitor cooking, chilling, labelling, storage and rotation of food, keeping required records and taking appropriate action where necessary to ensure compliance with HACCP procedures and food hygiene regulations.
  • Accountable for ensuring stock takes are undertaken at appropriate intervals and correctly reported.
  • Accountable for processing and managing the supply invoices for the lounge, ensuring values are within the approved sign off limit.
  • Accountable for the legislative requirements of the kitchen area, including Health & Safety and food hygiene.
  • Ensuring that all menu items are produced in accordance with the lounge/F&B outlet specific recipes.
  • To support the development of a high performing team capable of delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Responsible for constant performance management of colleagues, development reviews and objective setting for direct reports.
  • Responsible for the correct handling of waste in line with Lounge and airport requirements.
  • To assist with the preparing of staff rotas, timesheets and absence administration.
  • Collaborate with the hospitality management team to continuously improve the customer offering.

About you:

  • A solid background in the hospitality sector, with a proven track record of high-volume environments.
  • Experience of managing high-volume kitchen teams either in house or via contracted providers.
  • Analytical skills with a solution orientated approach to deliver on budgets.
  • A solid understanding of the market. S
  • uccessfully managed budgets, capable of prioritising spend, driving profit and identifying cost efficiencies.  
  • Computer literacy on mainstream PC applications including Microsoft office.
  • Ability to lead, inspire and motivate a diverse team with fairness and empathy, having courageous performance discussions as appropriate.
  • Able to create a culture of results within a high-pressured environment through a strong team spirit, instilling a hunger to be part of a winning team. Is highly organised in working style, prioritising, scheduling and delegating with skill.
  • Takes ownership, is committed to achieving growth by creating a culture of innovation commitment and engagement.
  • Food Hygiene level 3 or above would be an advantage. Know the key principles of risk assessment and how to identify, plan for and minimise risks to the service and operation.

You will be required to work a range of shifts. Early shifts can start as early as 3am and late shifts finishing as late as 8pm. Our Lounges are open 7 days a week.  You will receive a minimum of 2 consecutive days off.
