Assistant Golf Professional - Wallingford

We are looking for an Assistant Golf Professional to join our team at The Springs Resort & Golf Club in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. Fantastic hourly rate of 12.39 plus introductory bonus!

This is a permanent position to work full time hours. This will be 40 hours across variable days which will include weekends and bank holidays.

20% of tuition income is paid as commission for this role.

Flexibility is essential to suit the needs of the business.

About The Role

Main responsibilities:

The successful Assistant Golf Professional will

Provide high levels of customer service to the members and guests at The Springs Resort & Golf Club whilst assisting in running a successful retail and coaching facility.

Attention to custom-fitting, maintaining a junior academy and beginners coaching with the option to expand to more established players.

Collect green fees and process payment in line with Club procedures, including shop purchases and green fees.

Carry out opening and closing procedures following standard operating procedures for till reconciliation, site security etc.

Assist in organising and running tournaments, and other events, to help make them a success.

Organise and control play ensuring that customers receive the best service and enjoyment during their day.

Supervise the daily operation of the golf shop under the direction of the Golf Manager.

Offer specialist advice using product knowledge, recommend products and services to meet customer requirements.

Follow all established shop procedures, including those for payment processing, handling customer complaints, opening and closing, health and safety, security etc.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Club officials/facility owners, members, guests and visitors.

Requirements:

PGA Trainee or fully qualified PGA Professional. We are looking for a hard working, enthusiastic and self motivated individual. Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal skills. Interest in retailing and good selling skills.
