Summary

A Facilities Assistant provides an efficient, effective and flexible facilities service to enable the successful operation of the National Trust property. Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, you'll play a core part in providing fantastic customer service. You’ll be responsible for basic cleaning/care taking duties, minor maintenance and repair activities, and presentation of public areas.

Hours: 15 hours per week

Fixed term contract for 36 months

Salary £20475

Reporting to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer, you’ll also be working alongside 3 Welcome & Service Assistants to deliver an exceptional experience for our visitors.

Divis and the Black Mountain offers a spectacular viewpoint for walkers seeking panoramic views over Belfast and beyond. Resting in the heart of the Belfast Hills, this mountain provides a beautiful backdrop to the city's skyline.

This 2000-acre site acquired by the National Trust in 2004 with Heritage Lottery Fund support contains internationally significant priority habitats and species, including at risk peatland habitat that we have a duty to restore and protect. Explore this?rich, varied archaeological landscape and discover how it is home to a host of wildlife.  The walking trails?through heath, on stone tracks, along boardwalks and road surfaces offer a diverse array of terrains to interest all walking levels with views of Strangford Lough, the Mournes and the Sperrins as well as Donegal and Scotland. 



What you'll be doing

As the Facilities Assistant, you'll assist with the day to day cleanliness and presentation the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces. You’ll turn your practical hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor maintenance ensuring all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries.

Duties such as cleaning, sweeping and litter picking will form a core part of the role, both inside and outdoors. You’ll ensure the highest standards of customer service across the area by always implementing a ‘customer comes first’ attitude. General maintenance work and helping within other teams will also form part of your role.
