Aquatics Manager - Rayleigh Essex -Circa £32,000 + benefits

Our client is a successful independent Aquatics centre offering private swimming lessons, activity programmes and parties at their privately owned state of the art swimming complex in Essex. The owner is looking for a swimming teacher qualified senior manager to support with developing the business, manage day to day operations and teach some classes too.

In addition to working in a fun, rewarding environment where your ideas and inputs are highly valued, the company offers funded training to enhance your skills, 28 days holiday, contributory pension, and a rate of £20 hour if you teach outside of your contracted 40-hours week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support, develop and lead a team of swimming teachers, supervisors and receptionists.
• Plan and deliver up to 20 swimming lessons a week.
• Support with developing their pool timetable, swim school and school holiday programmes to maximise pool utilisation at all times.
• Work as the Centre Manager on a shift basis.
• Ensure the centre is clean, safe and operationally compliant at all times.
• Deliver a fantastic customer experience to all users.
• Help grow the business with innovative new ideas.

The Person

• Good energy, organised, passionate about swimming and customer service.
• Hands-on approach to management, always leading by example.
• Working knowledge of the ASA learn to swim pathway as an instructor/teacher and Swim England/STA level 2.
• Team leadership experience within aquatics such as a Swimming Development Manager, Swim-Co-ordinator, Swim Manager, Aquatics Manager, Sports Manager, Programme Manager, Activities Manager, Operations Manager, Duty Manager, Centre Manager or General Manager.
• Able to work a mixture of early (6.30-3pm) and late shifts (12.30-9pm) during the week and one day of the weekend (8-5).
• Able to reliably commute to Rayleigh, Essex each working day.
