Bar Manager

As a Bar Manager naturally you are enthusiastic, optimistic and treat everyone with respect. As a City Lover you will know the City like the back of your hand and will be able to recommend all the top places in Southampton to our wonderful guests.

Your responsibilities?

• Welcoming & introducing our guests to the City and to the Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton
• To supervise the activities of Leos Bar, newly refurbished to a high standard with over 100 cover capacity ensuring they team are aware of their responsibilities and perform duties to a high standard
• To oversee and supervise the Hotels Function bars with capacities of up to 500 in our Mayflower suite and 125 in our Mezzanine area
• To serve and prepare amazing drinks, ensuring guest queries are responded to in a timely and friendly manner 
• To be familiar with the days business, restaurant and conference bookings so that you can prepare the team, the department and be ready for action
• To deliver excellent customer service, being a role model to the team demonstrating great hospitality
• To have a visible presence within the hotel to ensure that all customer requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively and to keep all areas clean and tidy at all times
• To deal with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times
• Ensuring all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out correctly.
• Provide excellent understanding of stock control and ordering utilising the forecasting tools available within the property
• Providing training and support to the Team at all times
• Inform our guests of where to visit – make recommendations for shops, clubs, shows, really sell this City you love

Your experiences:

• Manager experience or be a strong Bar team member looking to take on additional responsibility
• Knowledge and experience of cocktail making - the ability to filter these skills and knowledge to your team through training
• Great communication skills so you can chat to our guests and of course the team
• The ability to recognise what our customers want and need and be able to provide it
• Good people skills – to work well in a team - we want work to be fun for all of our employees
• Confidence with systems and taking payments
• As much as you are individually amazing you're also a team player - we want work to be fun for all of our employees and you ensure that
• "Pressures for tyres" - you can adapt to all situation types, keeping calm and collected 
• Awareness of how to deal with customer complaints and how to ensure these are resolved so everyone has a wonderful stay here at Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton
• You will know the City to a tee – you will be able to recommend activities for all guest types from Theatre Shows to the best nightclubs
• Multitasking is your thing, whether it be making different cocktails or taking food orders you take every piece of information in and act upon it
• Customer service is your passion – you will love to meet and greet different people
