Many of the rooms have been refurbished yet retain all their archaic ornamentation and historic spirit.

The Royal Scarborough boasts 159 classically-styled bedrooms as well as a favourable sea view Restaurant and the Java Lounge. We also cater for conferences & events, with 3 large function rooms that can accommodate up to 300 delegates. Due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a Full Time Head Chef on to the team.

As Head Chef, you will be required too:

  • Ensure the highest possible standard of Food Production and presentation within the hotel, adhering to menu specification and departmental ‘Standards of Performance’ manual.
  • Ensure Food Hygiene Regulations are adhered to and that departmental checklists and guidelines regarding Food production and storage are updated and always monitored
  • Undertake departmental training alongside ‘Hotel Training Plan’ to develop employees within all kitchen departments
  • Complete departmental rotas & timesheets for all hotel kitchens always liaising with the hotel management and Conference office regarding shift cover and business / staffing levels.
  • Ensure the Kitchen remains a clean, safe, and organised environment, highlighting any major Health and Safety issues to senior management for action.
  • Liaise with Restaurant Management regarding promotional ideas such as specials, seasonal dishes, and special occasion menu’s, implementing as required.

The successful candidate will have a proven history of running a kitchen, managing food deliveries & stock control whilst delivering coaching & motivation to the team. You will need to hold a valid Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent).
