£50,000 + 10% annual bonus  

We are working with Horizon Leisure, an ambitious leisure trust on the South Coast who are looking to appoint a Regional Manager to take responsibility for two large leisure centres in Havant and Waterlooville and the launch in June of their first standalone fitness facility in Guildford. The business is evolving at pace under a new senior leadership team and has a dynamic 5-year strategy to take the business from good to great as it invests significantly into the centres and significantly extends their community wellness initiatives and partnerships. Reporting directly into the Commercial Director, key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct regular centre visits, support, coach and develop your teams at each centre to achieve their goals and targets
  • Ensure targets and budgets for both income and expenditure are met, adjusting the operation where needed to ensure they are achieved.
  • Working closely with the marketing team to ensure all promotional campaigns are optimised to deliver both membership and learn to swim targets
  • In conjunction with Commercial Director and Head of Finance, provide in depth forecasting and analysis including yield management.
  • Optimise rota management and ensure recruitment and training against company values is achieved
  • Ensure your teams ‘reach out’ to the local community and deliver outreach and engagement targets
  • Oversee and support on employee relations in a proactive way to resolve day to day issues
  • Work closely with the Facilities & Safety Manager on all facility and safety issues, sourcing solutions and ensuring compliance
  • Monitor Quest, NPS and Service Improvement Strategy scores and reports and support General Managers in making improvements
  • Drive performance against people KPI’s working closely with the People & Culture

 We are keen to hear from candidate who can demonstrate the following: 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a multisite management role or as a senior GM within the health and fitness industry
  • Strong commercial acumen and significant experience of p and l management across multiple revenues streams
  • Proven ability to identify and deliver opportunities to generate additional income and usage by developing/enhancing services and new initiatives
  • Demonstrable experience of achieving continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and appropriate challenge to process and delivery
  • A modern approach to people management and development with highly developed interpersonal, communication and IT skills..

In addition to a competitive basic salary of up to £50,000 the position offers an annual performance related bonus of up to 10%, 26 days holiday (increasing with service) plus bank holidays, stakeholder pension scheme, family friendly policies, free gym membership +1, 24hr GP service and access to health and wellbeing experts, an employee discounts platform and an employee assistance programme . The position will involve travel between Centres, mileage will be paid at 45p mile.
