We're looking for an Experience & Visitor Programming Manager (internal applicants only) to join the Cheshire & Wirral portfolio on a fixed term basis until September 2024 whilst the current post holder carries out a secondment opportunity. 
You’ll understand how to create and lead great experiences and motivate multi-disciplinary teams across the portfolio. You’ll need to bring your experience, enthusiasm, drive and determination to this exciting role. You'll have high standards for yourself and your teams, enjoy delivering and getting things done.


What it's like to work here

The Cheshire & Wirral portfolio is made up of the iconic Little Moreton Hall, the tranquil garden of Hare Hill, the magical woodland of Alderley Edge, the heathland of Thurstaston Common, and plenty of beautiful ‘pockets’ of Cheshire countryside- including a number of hills! 

The portfolio requires the team to balance their time well, prioritising the peak seasons for visitors to all our places. We have a mix of long standing and new team members, all committed to delivering excellence.

What you'll be doing

The role is a key member of the portfolio leadership team, leading the experiences teams across the portfolio and delivering their areas of work within the property business plan. The post-holder will need to work with a variety of internal and external colleagues and lead a large team of staff and volunteers to achieve key performance indicators. The role will be a key player in the delivery of projects across the portfolio, working closely with the leadership team.

The post holder will act as a member of the duty management team for the portfolio and will be required to work flexibly across seven days, with regular weekend, evening, and bank holiday working. The role also requires the ability to balance your time to suit the portfolio’s needs, and ideally, you’ll be able to travel across the portfolio when required (recovering expenses as incurred). The main working bases will be Little Moreton Hall (CW12 4SD), Alderley Edge (SK10 4UB), and Hare Hill (SK10 4PY).



Who we're looking for

The successful applicant will need to be creative, proactive, adaptable and organised, and have experience of implementing initiatives from idea to finished product. You’ll have great people management skills but some experience of leading a multidiscipline team would be an advantage. You’ll have a good understanding of setting and delivering financial budgets to ensure you’re able to motivate and coach your team to work with close control of these. You will exemplify the “warm and friendly” visitor-focussed approach on which we pride ourselves, and you’ll share our enthusiasm and passion for the work we do.
