Golf Driving Range Host - Redbourn Golf Club - St Albans, Hertfordshire

Hours: 24 hours per week (32 hours per week between April-Sept & 16 hours per week between Oct-March)

Salary: £13,044 per annum (averaged at 24 hours per week)

RESPONSIBLE TO: General Manager/F&B Manager

SUPPORT: Golf Operations Team/F&B Team/General Manager

VISION OF THE ROLE:

It is the ambition for Redbourn Golf Club to be recognised as open and inclusive club for all standards of golfers.

The Range Host would be responsible for the checking in and welcoming of all range users, the introduction of the trackman system to them and the upselling of food & beverage. The upkeep and cleanliness of the range is also the range hosts responsibility during their shift.

Flexibility is pivotal both in terms of cross department working and availability at busy times to meet both weekly and seasonal demands of the business.

The ideal candidate should have a background in both customer relations as well as sales. The role requires a high level of customer interaction, and the candidate needs to be approachable as well as a good communicator. This should be backed up by a good level of golfing knowledge.

SUMMARY OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

This role incorporates the daily management of operations on the range, ensuring the highest level of service and standards is delivered to the customer as well as actively maximising food & beverage sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Range Operations

  • To greet and welcome all customers onto the driving range.
  • To manage the bay booking system and ensure bays are ready for those customers.
  • To ensure that all range facilities are clean and presented to the highest possible level.
  • To work with the F&B Manager to maximise food & beverage income.
  • To liaise with the Course Manager to raise any issues or suggestions regarding the outfield.
  • To work with the Director of Golf to support any coaching activities.
  • Maintain any marketing materials and ensure everything is presented well and in date.
  • To promote the use of the Trackman facilities in full, including the App.
  • Solicit & handle customer enquiries and issues and deal with to the best of their ability.
  • Ensure all range users using the facilities in a safe and sensible manner.
  • To undertake any further duties requested by management.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure a safe working environment by conforming to company Health and Safety regulations.
  • Adhere to all BGL company policies and procedures.
  • Keep up to date with all assigned training and compliance training on the BGL Academy.

Hours of Work

Due to the seasonality of golf and opening hours there is a requirement for flexibility. Although hours to be agreed locally the typical full-time contracts will follow the guidance below.

  • Full time; 16-40 hours a week, including weekend work.
  • The role may require additional hours in line with the needs of the business.
